As your business evolves, you may need to adjust your Dappr subscription to match. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your base plan and add-on services directly from your account settings. This guide explains how to manage your subscriptions and outlines what to expect when you make a change, ensuring a smooth transition.

All Dappr subscriptions are managed from the Plans and billing page. Dappr offers three base plans to fit different stages of a business's lifecycle: the free Basic plan for getting started, the Essentials plan ($199/year) for growing businesses needing powerful tools, and the Pro plan ($399/year) for companies wanting to automate compliance and operations. When forming a new business on the Basic plan, a one-time $99 setup fee applies. In addition to a base plan, customers can subscribe to add-on services like Registered Agent Service or Automated Report Filings. The Pro plan conveniently bundles both of these services.

Finding the 'Plan and billing' page

Only the company's designated Legal Representative has the authority to manage subscriptions. To access the subscription management page, navigate to Settings in the main menu, then select Plan and billing from the top menu.

Not sure who the Legal Representative is?

You can find this information by navigating to Records > Legal and filing services and scrolling to the bottom of the page.

How to upgrade the base plan

You can upgrade from the Basic or Essentials plan at any time to access more features.

  1. On the Plan and billing page, click the Switch plan (or Upgrade plan if currently on Basic) button in the tile displaying your current plan.

  2. Select the plan you wish to upgrade to (Essentials or Pro).

  3. Review the changes and confirm the upgrade.

Your upgrade takes effect immediately, unlocking the new features right away. We will charge you for the new plan's annual fee and apply a prorated credit for any unused time remaining on your previous paid subscription, so you only pay for what you use.

Canceling or downgrading the base plan

Cancelling a paid Essentials or Pro plan effectively downgrades your account to the free Basic plan. This process ensures your critical business records and documents are retained securely at no cost. To begin, click the Switch plan button on your current plan's tile and follow the prompts to switch to the Basic plan.

Downgrading has several important consequences for your access to Dappr's features once your current paid subscription period ends.

  • Business Records: All documents and formation records are retained and remain accessible under the Basic plan for compliance and future reference. You may lose access to advanced record-keeping features, but the underlying data will be preserved and become available again if you reactivate a paid subscription.

  • Dappr Accounting: Your historical accounting records, including transactions and statements, will be preserved. However, you will lose the ability to categorize new transactions or view financial reports. It is crucial to download all necessary accounting data before your subscription expires. If you have a separate Full Service Bookkeeping subscription, it must also be cancelled. If the Full Service Bookkeeping subscription expires after the paid base subscription, you will retain access to Dappr Accounting until all services included in the bookkeeping subscription have been fulfilled.

  • Dappr Sales: All existing sales records will be retained for your reference. The Legal Representative will keep read-only access to view past quotes and invoices. However, all other users will lose access to the Sales tab. Any active recurring invoices and unpaid invoices will be automatically cancelled, and clients will no longer be able to submit payment. If you use Dappr for sales tax remittance, this service will be cancelled. Any funds in your tax reserve account will be transferred to your Dappr Financial Account, and your company will become responsible for all future sales tax filings.

  • Registered Agent Service: If your registered agent service is included with the Pro plan, you must decide how to proceed to avoid a compliance lapse. You can purchase the Registered Agent Service as a standalone add-on, or you must formally change your registered agent with the state. Dappr can file the required documents for a one-time fee, which will be offered to you when you initiate your downgrade or cancellation.

  • Deleting Your Dappr Account: To permanently delete your account and all associated data, the Legal Representative must email [email protected]. This action cannot be undone. Please note that due to regulatory requirements for financial and corporate record-keeping, some data cannot be immediately deleted.

Cancelling add-on subscriptions

You can cancel individual add-on subscriptions, such as Automated Report Filings or Full Service Bookkeeping, from the Plan and billing page.

  1. Scroll down to the Other subscriptions list.

  2. Find the subscription you wish to cancel.

  3. Click the actions menu (three dots) on the right-hand side.

  4. Select Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation steps. Be sure to check the renewal date, as most services must be cancelled prior to this date to avoid future charges.

The cancellation review process

Because Dappr services are often legally interconnected, our team reviews all downgrade and cancellation requests to protect your business. We check for potential compliance issues that could put your company in bad standing. For example, if we are your registered agent, we must confirm you have a new agent in place before we can cease our service. If any action is required from you, our team will reach out via email to guide you through the necessary steps. To ensure your company remains compliant, a subscription will remain active and renew if we cannot resolve a critical matter due to a lack of response.

Registered agent cancellation

All U.S. states require companies to maintain a registered agent continuously. If you cancel this service from Dappr (whether as part of the Pro plan or as an add-on), you are legally required to appoint a new one and file a "Change of Agent" (or state equivalent) form with the appropriate agency.

The Registered Agent Service must be cancelled before its renewal date. Due to firm commitments with our network of service partners, we cannot offer refunds or grace periods for late cancellations. If you are downgrading from the Pro plan and wish to avoid any disruption, the simplest option is to add the standalone Registered Agent Service subscription during the downgrade process.
