Consistent, timely bookkeeping is essential for accurate financial reporting and making informed business decisions. However, it can be easy to fall behind. To help you stay on track, Dappr has a built-in system that monitors the status of your bookkeeping and creates automated to-do tasks for any actions that require your attention.
This guide explains how to use Dappr's Bookkeeping Status dashboard to see what needs to be done and quickly address any pending items.
Checking your bookkeeping status
The main hub for monitoring your bookkeeping progress is located on the Accounting Overview page.
To view your status, navigate to Accounting from the main menu. The Bookkeeping status tile is displayed prominently at the top of the Overview page.
This tile provides a month-by-month visual summary of your progress for the current year. Underneath each month, an icon indicates its status:
Blue Checkmark: Complete. Your books for this month are up-to-date, with no pending statements to upload or transactions to reconcile.
Red Warning Icon: Input needed. There are outstanding tasks for this month that require your action.
Grey Pending Icon: Upcoming. The month is still in progress or has recently ended, and tasks will be generated soon.
You can switch to a different year by using the dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the tile. If a previous year has any outstanding tasks, a red warning icon will appear next to the year in the dropdown list, letting you know at a glance that there's work to be done.
Completing pending tasks
When you see a month with a red warning icon, you can address the pending tasks directly from the status tile.
Click on the month that requires your attention.
A sidebar will appear on the right, showing a list of pending tasks for that month. These tasks will specify what needs to be done, such as "Statement requests" or "Categorization input needed."
Click the blue button within a task (e.g., Upload statement or Categorize transactions).
You will be taken directly to the relevant page or pop-up window needed to complete the action. For example, clicking to upload a statement will open the statement uploader, while clicking to categorize transactions will open a list of the months that have unreconciled items.
Dashboard to-do list
In addition to the Accounting Overview page, critical and timely tasks will also appear in the To-do list on your main Dappr dashboard. This ensures that important bookkeeping actions, like uploading a required monthly statement for a manual account, are visible right when you log in.
Once a task is completed by any user with the appropriate access, it will be marked as complete for the entire team, ensuring everyone has a clear and up-to-date view of the company's bookkeeping progress.
