The Dappr Financial Account comes with powerful and flexible spending tools: Dappr Cash Cards. Each authorized cardholder on your account is issued a physical card for in-person purchases and can also create an unlimited number of virtual cards for secure online spending. This dual system gives you both the convenience of a traditional payment card and the enhanced security and organization of modern digital finance.

This guide explains the difference between physical and virtual cards, how to create and manage them, and the benefits included with your Dappr Visa Commercial Credit Card.

Physical vs. virtual cards

  1. Physical Cards: Each cardholder is issued one physical Dappr Cash Card, which is mailed to their selected address. It's designed for all your in-person spending needs, from buying office supplies to paying for a client dinner. For security, the full card number is only visible on the card itself, protecting your information from being exposed online.

  2. Virtual Cards: These are digital-only cards that you can create instantly for online purchases. You can create as many as you need, making them a powerful tool for managing expenses with precision and control. Common uses include:

    • Subscription Management: Assigning a unique virtual card to each subscription service (e.g., one for software, one for marketing tools). This makes it easy to see exactly how much you're spending on each service and allows you to freeze or cancel a single card without affecting your other subscriptions.

    • Budget Control: Creating a card with a specific spending limit for a one-time purchase or for a specific category of spending. For example, you could create a "Travel" card with a monthly limit for booking flights and hotels.

    • Employee Spending: Giving each employee a virtual card with a nickname and a set budget for their work-related expenses, providing them with autonomy while maintaining full control over spending.

The full details for virtual cards can be viewed securely in the Dappr web and mobile apps. Both physical and virtual cards can be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay for convenient and secure contactless payments.

How to manage cards

You can access the card management dashboard from both desktop and mobile.

  • On Desktop: Navigate to Financial Account from the main menu and click on Manage cards in the top menu.

  • On Mobile: Tap on the Cards tab in the bottom menu.

The "My cards" tab will show all the cards issued to you. If you have administrative access, you will also see an "All cards" tab on the desktop web app, allowing you to view and manage cards for all cardholders in your company.

Create a new card (Desktop only)

  1. From the Manage cards page, click the New card button in the top-right corner.

  2. Choose whether to create a Get virtual card or order a Get physical card (replacement). You can only order a replacement physical card if your original one has been activated and is not currently being shipped.

  3. For a virtual card, you can add an optional Nickname and set a Spending limit (e.g., $500 per month). If no limit is set, the card will default to a limit of $10,000 per transaction. We highly recommend setting a spending limit to control costs and enhance security.

  4. Click Create and activate card. The virtual card is created instantly and is ready for use.

Managing an existing card

From the card list, click the three-dot actions menu on any card to manage its settings. On mobile, scroll on each card to view the same settings. You can:

  • Lock and Unlock: Temporarily freeze a card to prevent any transactions. This is an instant way to secure a card if you suspect it has been compromised.

  • Set/Edit Spending Limit: Assign or change a spending limit with a specific interval (per day, week, month, etc.). A progress bar will show how much of the limit has been used, providing a clear visual of the remaining budget. The limit resets automatically at midnight UTC at the start of the new interval.

  • Cancel Permanently: Deactivate the card forever. This action cannot be undone and is appropriate for cards that are no longer needed or have been compromised.

  • Set as Primary Card (Virtual Cards Only): Choose one virtual card to be your primary card, which will be featured on your Financial Account overview and in the mobile app for quick access.

  • Reset PIN Code (Physical Cards Only): Change the PIN for your physical card for added security.

About your Dappr Visa Commercial Credit Card
