When you form a new company, issue new ownership stakes, or take other types of investments, each owner—known as a member for an LLC or a shareholder for a Corporation—is typically required to contribute capital to the business. This initial funding, called a capital contribution or investment, is made in exchange for their ownership percentage.

To make this process simple and secure, Dappr provides a convenient payment solution for stakeholders to pay for their ownership stakes and other types of investments directly through the platform. This guide explains how the process works and details the available payment methods and associated fees.

How to make your investment payment

When a new capital contribution or investment is due, the stakeholder will be prompted to pay during their initial onboarding process with the company. If they are not ready to pay at that moment, they can choose to skip the step. A task will then be added to their to-do list on their main Dappr dashboard, allowing them to return and complete the payment at a later time.

This same to-do list task will appear for existing stakeholders who are making a new investment in the company after its initial formation.

Please note that the company's legal representative can choose to disable this feature and arrange for investment payments to be collected outside of the Dappr platform (e.g., via a direct wire transfer to the company's bank account).

Payment methods and fees

Dappr offers several secure payment options for making your capital contribution. The available methods and their associated fees are clearly displayed on the payment page.

  1. ACH Direct Debit:

    • Pay directly and securely from your U.S. bank account.

    • Fee: $5 convenience fee.

  2. Credit or Debit Card:

    • Pay with any major credit or debit card.

    • Fee: 3% of the investment amount + $35 convenience fee.

    • Limit: Card payments are capped at a maximum of $5,000.

  3. International Wire Transfer:

    • This option is available only to stakeholders with a home address outside of the United States.

    • Fee: $20 convenience fee.

Once a payment has been successfully processed, the funds are transferred directly into the company's Dappr Financial Account, making them immediately available for business use.
